Lexington's 1st Annual Iron Chef Competition

So yesterday I got to go to Steve's 1st Iron Chef comptetion at his school! They had to make 3 dishes with the chosen secret ingredient! It turned out to be CORN! Steve was really pushing for that one considering the other two were potatoes or eggs. He really didn't want it to be eggs! His team of all girls (picked randomly by the home ec. teacher) have been meeting after school for a few weeks now. They have been testing out recipes and deciding on what to do! They made a tomato, bacon, corn soup (that everyone loved), a carne asade, corn, potato, crossiant sorta thing and some other dish that had corn, tomatoes, avocado and garlic in it. They ended up tying for 3rd and 4th place with another team. Disappointing for sure but they did a really great job. It was hard because everyone took it so seriously and the judges had a very difficult time deciding the winner.

The judges! Tish (a home ec teacher at Brookhurst JH), a real chef (not sure what his name was) and their principle, Dr. Wales!
Steve telling the girls what to do..they were nervous I think!
They taped the whole thing! Throughout the hour they taped each teacher telling what their team was making.

The prize was these fancy aprons along with a golden spoon! Cute.

Almost ready for the judges to taste!
Steve presenting to the judges with his team!

The big hit was his tomato soup with bacon and white corn blended together!

Steve's collaboration special ed teacher, Mike! That is his son Antonio, showing me his "monkey face!" Had to keep him entertained somehow! Congrats to Ms. Stewarts winning team!

Charlotte "Charlie" Leigh was born on June 3rd at 9:38am! She was 6lbs, 13oz and 19 inches long. She is adorable and perfect already! I went to go visit Shannon, Dominic and Charlie at the hospital last night. Mom is a bit sore after her c-section but everyone is doing well!

I love this one! I stole this from Mark and Missy! Thanks guys!
Looking at her dad like he is already her hero! So cute!

Her Aunties, minus Jenn! Next time we will get Jenn in there too!

Hiccups and Thunder

Last night we had a super rare thunder and lightning storm. It didn't last long but woke both Steve and I up. It also woke up baby girl Davis! I've always hated thunder and still do so I assume my blood pressure was up and I was a little nervous. I guess I'm passing that on to her because she got her first set up hiccups during the storm! It was so cute though! I've been hearing about everyone elses babies getting these in the womb but until last night, I had not experienced them! I have to say it was pretty cool and it made me feel even closer to her!

In other news, Shannon had her baby this morning! I'm not so patiently waiting on the babies name and stats!

Also, congrats to Summer and Ryan for having Ryder James on May 29th! I can't wait to meet him!

As Steve likes to point out, "your next!" Scary thought! We have no friends having babies in the summer. So in September, I'll be kicking off another set of babies being born before the year is up!!

23 weeks

So Sunday's are the day that my weeks change. So yesterday we hit 23 wks! Yippee! The weeks seriously go so fast. I try to soak each week up and remember every detail! I'm in such a great place of my pregnancy now! I'm loving it! Her head is always on my right side and she likes to move it around a lot. It feels so weird when she does that! My whole stomach gets super tight. Her little legs are always on the left and she wiggles them around throughout the day and night! She always lets me know when she is awake and needs to change positions! She hasn't kicked me just yet so that is nice! I'm sure that will come soon enough though!
Our crib was delivered on Saturday with no issues! The guys said, "wow this is the heaviest crib we have ever delivered!" Steve looked at them with little sympathy since he was the one that had to put it together! Heehee! Although I will for sure help-that is if he wants it!

3 month old Emma!

I went to see baby Emma on Sunday for a few hours. I got my first smile from her! It was so cute! Kelly and I put her in her bumbo since she has started to show interest in sitting up. It's so funny to watch her in it. I think she was more interested in the flowers on her dress and her left hand though! Something about her left hand that she just can't get enough of! It must be very interesting to her!

I had bought this hat for her when she was born to go with an outift. It's obviously a bit too big still! But I had to check to make sure right!?
I think she likes it without the hat better!
YAY no hat!!!!! **happy emma dance**!
