Happy 2010

Steve and I had such a great, growing, surprising 2009. We found out we were expecting our baby girl at the beginning of the year. Then throughout the year we dealt with me being very sick 1st trimester. Then having to go on meds for high blood pressure. But in the end, baby girl was healthy and came 4 days after her due date. We feel like we were basically pregnant all of 2009. But that makes it sort of a sentimental year.

Then at the end of 2009, 3 days before Christmas, Steve's mom was in a very bad car accident! We got the phone call everyone dreads! We rushed to the ER and waited with Steve's family to hear about his mom's injuries! Most of you know that I have also been in two car accidents. I've never been on the waiting in the ER side! It's weird because you sort of have this bond with the other people in the ER who are also waiting to hear the fate of their loved ones as well! We saw some of those families in the hospital 3 days later!

Steve's mom was in ICU for 2 days! She was released late Christmas Eve and was able to spend Christmas with the family! She is on oxygen but getting better everyday! She got the great news that surgery would not be needed on her hand that was broken in 4 places! Apparently the ER doctor set her hand so well, that surgery wasn't needed anymore! Such a blessing! We just know she will heal fully by the time 2010 gets under way!

So we look forward to what 2010 will hold for our family! Jocelyn will be ringing in the New Year in her crib! First night! I know I will be sad but Steve and I will most likely be sleeping much better now! :-)

Cable Car to Union Square

We took a cable car up to Union Square while we were in SF! At first Jocelyn was ok with it. But then the car got very loud and she wanted no part! She cried pretty much the whole time. People were pretty understanding and gave us the look of being there themselves!

We shopped in Macy's and Neiman's for fun!

Visit with Merrick

As we left thecity we stopped by my cousin Curtis' house! He is the one that performed our wedding! He and his wife, Jackie just had a baby at the end of Nov.! Merrick Von Baldwin was 11lbs, 2oz! Amazing! He is still bigger Jocelyn!

We had dinner here and loved it! Carved roast beef dinners and an atmosphere as if you are in New York!

Visiting Santa

Steve and I took Jocelyn to see Santa today! We went to Fashion Island on the recommendation of Steve's sister, Robin! It was a great experience! We walked right up! They let you take your own pictures if you buy something so we took a few! I think we were only suppose to take one but they didn't seem to mind!This made me laugh! Steve was clicking away so Jocelyn was looking at him! Santa wanted her to look at the camera in front of her. So he told Steve to stop! He was nice about it but it was just funny that Steve got a picture of it!

Slept through the NIGHT!

Last night Jocelyn took her last feeding at 9pm. She feel asleep in my arms around 9:30pm. I then put her in her bassinet for the night! I woke up on my own at 2:40am thinking, hmmm I haven't heard the little one stir at all yet! I checked on her and she was fast asleep! I thought for sure she would be up soon so I went back to bed. I think woke up at 5:40am and she was STILL sleeping! I couldn't believe it! I finally started to hear her stir at 6am! She slept 8.5 hrs! All through the entire night for the first time ever! Hopefully it's not a fluke! Although I do admit I did sorta miss that middle of the night feeding!

Club Newport Party

Not sure what year this is...maybe 5th or 6th? But every Christmas we do a Club Newport party! This includes all the people that lived in our complex during college! The "Club Newport" stands for the street we lived on! Actually it was a little out of college as well! Not everyone was able to make it this year but we still had a great time! We normally do it at Buca di Beppo. However, last year wasn't so great so we decided to do a potluck instead. Plus we all had kids this year so it would be easier for everyone! Steve and I offered our house as the meeting place! We had originally planned to do it outside, however the rain changed that!

I made lasagna, articoke dip & brownies! Everyone else brought wine, sides & desserts! It was a really good time! I think the kids had fun as well!
